Following a distinctly British lineage, from Barrett to Orange Juice through The Smiths to Pulp theirs is a sound that is carefully thought out, pieced together from R&B, old glam and post-punk records and assembled so it has the immediacy (and hooks) of pop balanced by a self-conscious, geeky stance.
