London's Absentee full length debut beautifully captures the frustrations of love and sex, drunken fumblings and awkward encounters all wrapped round singer Dan Michaelson's deep, Gainsbourgesque honeyed drawl. Sonically Schmotime draws on US altrock heroes pavement, smog and o'rouke but Absentee add a distinct English twist.
